The tryout dates and details have been posted on our homepage. They will be the week after Labor Day Weekend on Tuesday, September 7th and Thursday, September 9th from 7-9PM.

10) Jersey (Home and Away Set are provided)

We also have team equipment discounts so getting new gear is much cheaper than if it was bought in a store or online.

By saying that everything is so expensive i meant hockey gear in general. I already own a pair of tour skates, bauer gloves, and a x:20 stick (which I love), but I'm trying to save up to buy a pair of ice skates so I can play rat and pond this winter. It's encouraging to hear that all different skill levels exist in your club.

Do you mean in terms of skill, equipment or as in annual dues to play? I'll try to answer all of them the best I can though.


Skill wise, we have people in our club (2 teams) of all levels. Anywhere from not playing and of any form of organized hockey (like yourself) to people that played High School hockey at the highest levels. Both teams are competitive, so basic hockey skills are a minimum to be able to hack it with the other teams in the league. When it come to equipment, everything is required to play except for shoulder pads and hip pads. Indoor wheels are a must though, as you need to be able hockey stop on a dime. When a person makes the team, Team Jerseys (2) and a set of pants are included in their dues. Pricewise, we are definitely cheaper than ice hockey by as much as $2000. Dues are changing though, so it would be hard to give you an estimate at this time. If you have any more questions shoot me an email at kulbers1@illinois.edu.
